This annual event, organized by Wantedly, took place on September 25, 2025, at EBiS303, celebrating outstanding efforts within the year across different categories such as TEAM OF THE YEAR, CRAFT CATEGORY, and EPISODE CATEGORY. The SCOUT CRAFT category specifically recognizes the effectiveness of scouting processes, evaluating aspects such as response rates, story development, and candidate outreach strategies.

The SCOUT CRAFT award is a significant recognition for Kikagaku, especially as this marks the second consecutive year they have received the Gold distinction in this category. Two primary factors contributed to this achievement: first, the ability to send over 100 scout messages each month, and second, maintaining an impressive average response rate of over 21%. During the awards ceremony, Kikagaku also showcased their expert scouting techniques through a five-minute lightning talk (LT), where they shared insights and strategies that have led to their success.

The 3S Scouting Approach



In the LT presentation, Kikagaku introduced their candidate-centered scouting method called the “3S Scouting” approach—Short, Simple, and Straight—which has proven crucial for improving response rates. This approach is defined as follows:

  • - Short: Messages are kept concise, ideally under 800 characters, making them easily digestible in one scroll (practical implementation is around 550-600 characters).
  • - Simple: Clear calls to action guide candidates on their next steps.
  • - Straight: The reasons for scouting candidates are communicated clearly, focusing on what the candidates aspire to do in the future.

By refining the way they articulate scouting reasons, Kikagaku successfully increased response rates from 21% to over 30% for specific job types. Additionally, the integration of generative AI has improved message quality while significantly reducing the time taken to create these communications.
