Rankings Methodology
The U.S. News & World Report’s annual college rankings are based on a variety of outcome-based assessments. These include metrics related to student retention, graduation rates, faculty research citations and a new factor, earnings by major. Each of these metrics contributes significantly to the overall score, with peer assessments and first-year retention rates also being taken into account to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
