Despite working full-time hours, our pay remains only part-time, which is clearly insufficient.” She emphasized the love the drivers have for their jobs and the children they transport, yet reiterated the necessity for fair compensation.

As negotiations progress, wages remain a pivotal issue, with the employer agreeing to implement retroactive backpay to the start of the school year, contingent upon contract ratification. Local 570 had a recent meeting with Zum representatives and has proposed additional bargaining dates throughout September.
