Midea Takes a Major Step by Supporting AFC National Team Competitions Globally

Midea's New Partnership with the AFC

Midea, one of the leading smart home appliance brands globally, recently made a significant announcement regarding its commitment to sports. The company has become a global supporter of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) National Team Competitions, marking a thrilling development for sports enthusiasts and fans alike.

This multi-year agreement begins with the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26, ultimately leading up to the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026™. Midea anticipates that this partnership will inspire a new generation of football players and support an environment where the sport can thrive. The agreement will also see Midea as a prominent sponsor during the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ 2026, taking place in Saudi Arabia, where teams will compete fiercely for both the title and qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games.

Moreover, in 2027, Midea will also participate as a global supporter of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™, a historic event as it will be the first time this championship takes place in Saudi Arabia.

Lewis Fu, President of Midea International Business, expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating, “The next four years will play a crucial role in AFC football history, and Midea is delighted to be part of it. We look forward to growing together with the AFC and expanding Midea's home appliance business in the region.”

In addition to national competitions, Midea will expand its partnership to youth events, supporting a variety of tournaments such as the AFC U20 Asian Cup™, AFC U17 Asian Cup™, AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™, and AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™. This strategic move aligns with Midea's vision of fostering future talents and contributing positively to sports culture.
