Fruit Attraction 2026: A Major Global Event in Madrid

The Fruit Attraction event is gearing up for an exciting edition as it prepares to welcome industry leaders from around the globe. Scheduled to take place from October 6 to 8, 2026, at the IFEMA exhibition center in Madrid, this edition marks the 18th installment of this highly anticipated trade fair for fruits and vegetables. With over 90% of the exhibition space already reserved, expectations are running high for a successful event.

Organized by IFEMA MADRID in collaboration with FEPEX (the Spanish Federation of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers, and Live Plants), the event has seen significant interest, with a substantial number of companies confirmed from 63 different countries. Currently, the net reserved exhibition area stands at 72,000 m², a figure incredibly close to that of last year's total, emphasizing the event's growth and popularity.

Anticipated Participation

The upcoming fair is expected to host more than 2,500 exhibitors showcasing a wide array of fresh fruits and vegetables across 80,000 m². Additionally, over 121,000 professionals from around 150 countries are projected to attend, making it an unparalleled networking opportunity within the fruit and vegetable sector.

Exhibition Layout and Features

Fruit Attraction will occupy 10 halls, collectively covering more than 162,000 m². The exhibition halls have been planned to replicate last year’s layout, for ease of navigation and optimal visiting experience for trade professionals. Odd-numbered halls (3, 5, 7, and 9) will feature domestic offerings along with the InnovaTech exhibit, while even-numbered halls (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14) will host international offerings from regions including Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Notably, the Fresh Food Logistics space will reside in Hall 4, catering to the growing demand for food logistics solutions.

This year also sees the potato taking center stage, highlighting its vital role in food security and healthy eating initiatives. The fair will bring back the Organic Tour, a dedicated pathway designed to increase the visibility of certified organic product offerings.

International Buyer Program

A pivotal component of the event is the International Buyer Program, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, ICEX, and FEPEX. This program aims to attract 700 major buyers, including retail purchasing executives, importers, and wholesalers from over 50 countries. In addition, the Guest Importer Countries initiative will shine a spotlight on nations such as China and the United Arab Emirates, further broadening the event's international reach.

Awards and Recognition

For the third consecutive year, Fruit Attraction will hold the Best Stand Awards, sponsored by WAH Show, to honor exhibition booths that display excellence in creativity, design, and sustainability standards across four categories: Most Original Stand, Best Stand Design, Most Sustainable Stand, and Most Popular Stand among visitors. Moreover, the Innovation Hubs Awards will reward pioneering projects, products, or services in the industry, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and technology.

Knowledge Sharing and Forums

Fruit Attraction will also serve as a hub of knowledge, featuring various forums and a comprehensive program of technical seminars that will cover a range of topics. Key events within the seminar series include both the Avocado Congress and the Biofruit Congress, where industry experts will present the latest insights and trends.

Overall, the 2026 edition of Fruit Attraction promises to be a vibrant hub for industry professionals, offering unparalleled opportunities for networking, learning, and discovering the latest innovations in the fruit and vegetable sector.
