Gabunomi-dokoro Oni-zori Gorilla: A New Hangout Spot in Fukuoka
On September 11, a fresh and exciting venue will open its doors in Fukuoka's Kokura—Gabunomi-dokoro Oni-zori Gorilla, a new izakaya concept by Five Group, known for creating enjoyable dining experiences. This marks their expansion into Kyushu, a long-awaited milestone for the brand which originally launched its first outlet in 2020 in Kichijoji, and now has eight locations. This new Kohura branch invites adults who want to connect and unwind after a busy day, capturing the spirit of youthful camaraderie.
A Unique Dining Experience
The concept of Oni-zori Gorilla is rooted in the desire for adults to freely enjoy their nights. With the motto "Even adults want to gulp down drinks at night,” the izakaya aims to create a welcoming space for millennials in their 30s and beyond, who work hard yet still seek fun and connections.
The izakaya will operate daily from 5 PM to 5 AM, ensuring that patrons looking to decompress after work or catch up with friends can do so at any hour. The ambiance pays homage to California garage culture, complete with skateboards and hobby tools adorning the walls, and a spacious interior designed for relaxation with roomy seating arrangements.
A Playful Atmosphere
This unique izakaya goes beyond traditional dining experiences, featuring darts, karaoke rooms, billiard tables, and an array of board games for patrons to enjoy. The venue is also equipped with professional DJ equipment and sound systems, making it perfect for entertainment and celebrations. With seating for 190, it can serve as a venue for private events, including wedding receptions and parties.
Kokura itself is a vibrant area known for its historical charm and lively marketplace, making it an ideal location for this new hangout. As a transportation hub connecting Honshu and Kyushu, Kokura is set to attract both locals and travelers looking for a place to engage and unwind.
