The Ministry of Tourism in Japan has announced the commencement of a crucial initiative aimed at promoting the development of regional tourism content to diversify tourism demand effectively. Beginning from February 27 until April 2, 2024, the ministry invites applications for indirect subsidy operators under the program.

The primary goal of this initiative is to achieve sustainable attraction of tourists to rural areas, leading to a more balanced tourism demand. It aims to support the supply of tourism content that promotes the distribution of inbound demand. Various stakeholders, including local governments, Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), and private enterprises, will be able to utilize diverse regional resources to create appealing tourism offerings, disseminate information, and explore new markets comprehensively.

3. Quality Enhancement Type: Projects aiming to improve existing tourism content to provide high-value offerings targeted at inbound visitors fall into this category.
