Bentley's New Flying Spur: A Grand Entrance in Japan
Bentley Motors Japan has announced the highly anticipated arrival of the new Flying Spur, set to make its official debut in Japan on August 21, 2026. This luxurious four-door sedan, initially unveiled globally in June 2023, combines exquisite craftsmanship with performance that rivals supercars. To celebrate this launch, Bentley will host the 'New Flying Spur Debut Showcase' at seven official dealerships across Japan, giving enthusiasts an exclusive first look at the vehicle.
An Unparalleled Showcase
The showcase runs from August 21, 2026, featuring stunning live displays where visitors can appreciate the innovative design and performance that Bentley has to offer. This will be a rare opportunity for fans to get up close to a model that embodies the perfect blend of luxury and sportiness.
Key Features of the New Flying Spur
The new Flying Spur is powered by Bentley's V8 hybrid powertrain, celebrated for its modern, efficient technology. This model makes a significant style leap with a revamped exterior that boasts sleek, seamless surfaces and a contemporary feel. For the first time since 1962, a single front headlamp design has been adopted for Bentley sedans, aligning with the aesthetics of the fourth-generation Continental GT.
The features pass on a seamless integration of the radiator grille into the front bumper and offer two distinct single headlamp designs that vary by model. Traditional wing vent details have been replaced with smoother, cleaner lines that enhance the car's sophisticated profile. The back of the vehicle showcases a newly designed trunk lid, modern rear lights, and a body-colored number plate surround, all contributing to an overall polished appearance. The new 22-inch wheels available for the Azure and S models add an additional touch of elegance.
Introducing the Flying Spur S
Also making waves is the revived Flying Spur S model, now the most powerful version to date. Building on the acclaimed DNA of the Continental GT S, this sporty variant combines active chassis with an advanced hybrid powertrain. It delivers 680 PS of peak output and an astounding 930 Nm of torque, increasing 130 PS from its predecessor and achieving acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.7 seconds. With a top speed hitting 308 km/h, the Flying Spur S is engineered for extraordinary performance.
Equipped with active AWD, twin-valve dampers, and a 48V active anti-roll system known as Bentley Dynamic Ride, the S model also features an electronic limited-slip differential for unmatched stability and agile handling. The sporty character is reflected in its design, featuring a gloss black matrix grille, a dark-tinted full LED matrix headlight, and eye-catching exhaust tailpipes that further emphasize its powerful presence.
Luxurious Interiors
The interior of the Flying Spur S exemplifies Bentley's commitment to exquisite craftsmanship, with an expanded selection of five different seat styles. Each seat takes over 12 hours of handcrafting by Bentley's trim specialists, featuring unique designs such as fluted and quilted inserts.
Production of the new Flying Spur will commence in September 2026 at Bentley's headquarters in Crewe, England, guaranteeing high-quality manufacturing.
