Yesway Steps Up to Support Texas Hill Country After Disastrous Flooding
In the tragic aftermath of the severe flooding that impacted Kerr County during the July 4th weekend, Yesway has initiated significant relief efforts aimed at assisting those in dire need. As a company with deep roots in Texas, Yesway feels a profound responsibility to support affected communities during this challenging time.
From now until July 31, 2025, the convenience store chain is encouraging community members, customers, and supplier partners to participate in in-store fundraising initiatives. Donations of $1, $5, $10, or any amount can be made easily at the checkout of any Yesway or Allsup’s location.
Every dollar contributes to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s relief efforts, designated specifically for helping families and first responders as they work towards recovery and rebuilding.
Yesway is committed to assisting both immediate recovery efforts and long-term rebuilding, pledging a substantial $100,000 donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund managed by the Community Foundation. Recognizing the importance of community support, Yesway invites its customers, employees, and supplier partners to contribute. Together, they hope to maximize the total raised to aid the afflicted communities.
The urgency of this response follows the recent flooding, which came swiftly and unexpectedly, catching many residents by surprise. According to the Hilltown Community Journal, the Guadalupe River rose a staggering 26 feet in just 45 minutes, resulting in considerable damage across Kerr County and neighboring areas. With disaster declarations now covering 14 Texas counties, including Gillespie, Comal, and Kimble, the impact is widespread: homes, campsites, and riverside communities have been devastated, leading to loss of life and prompting ongoing search and rescue operations.
Tom Trkla, Yesway’s Chairman, President, and CEO, expressed deep sympathy for those affected by the floods. “Our hearts are with the families, first responders, and entire communities whose lives were forever changed by these floods. Though we are not first responders ourselves, as neighbors and fellow Texans, we feel it is our duty to assist however we can.”
Trkla further emphasized that even a small donation can provide critical support for those in need. Yesway’s belief in the power of community shines through this initiative, hoping to bring relief and restoration of hope to those suffering.
