CME Group Launches Futures Trading for South Asia Crude Palm Oil
In a groundbreaking move for the agricultural market, CME Group, the leading derivatives marketplace in the world, has announced the successful initial trades for its South Asia Crude Palm Oil (Fastmarkets) futures. On March 5, 2026, a total of 100 contracts were traded between Avere Commodities and Olam Agri, with the brokerage handled by ICAP. This announcement follows the launch of the new South Asia edible oil futures contracts on March 2, 2026.
John Ricci, who serves as Managing Director and Global Head of Agricultural Products at CME Group, expressed his satisfaction with the early engagement from participants in the industry.
