Christopher Creed Joins Galvanize Climate Solutions to Drive Energy Transition Investments

Galvanize Climate Solutions, a prominent investment firm dedicated to generating long-term value from the ongoing energy transition, has officially welcomed Christopher Creed to its team. As the former Chief Investment Officer of the U.S Department of Energy's Loan Program Office (LPO), Creed brings a wealth of experience and expertise that is expected to significantly bolster Galvanize's investment initiatives.

Creed's tenure at LPO saw him manage a team of over 200 professionals, overseeing a staggering total of 54 projects that aggregated to secure more than $108 billion in financing. His leadership in this role positioned the LPO as the world's largest lender dedicated specifically to energy transition projects. Prior to his impactful role at LPO, Creed cultivated extensive experience in the private sector, spending over two decades at Goldman Sachs, where he advanced to the role of Managing Director. His experience there included serving as co-head of securitized investments and managing a portfolio exceeding $75 billion in fixed-income assets across multiple funds and accounts.

Tom Steyer, Co-Executive Chair at Galvanize, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Creed's appointment, highlighting the growing business of decarbonization. "As industries transition to cleaner energy solutions, there is an incredible investment opportunity not only to enhance climate impact but also to achieve financial success. Chris's exemplary history in both the public and private sectors makes him an invaluable asset to our multi-strategy platform," said Steyer.

In his new role at Galvanize, Creed aims to leverage the company's substantial resources in energy transition, efficiency, and climate resilience investing. His focus will be on providing specialized financing solutions tailored to high-growth market dynamics.

"During my time at LPO, it became evident that there’s an urgent need for well-rounded financial partners who can engage with companies at all growth stages implementing energy transition initiatives. Galvanize stands out as a partner willing to meet these companies on their terms, truly comprehending their unique challenges and maximizing their potential," Creed stated. He expressed pride in joining Galvanize's diverse platform, looking forward to supporting various promising enterprises in the energy transition arena.

Galvanize Climate Solutions is recognized for its performance-driven investment strategies targeting the decarbonization sector. With leadership from seasoned investors and operators, including Katie Hall, Tom Steyer, and former Secretary John Kerry, Galvanize endeavors to invest across various asset classes, including venture capital and real estate, all aimed at nurturing commercially viable clean energy solutions. The firm operates primarily out of major financial hubs, including San Francisco, New York, and London, showing its commitment to being at the forefront of climate-focused investment opportunities.
