CoCo Bubble Tea Announces Strategic Partnership to Boost Expansion in Belgium and Beyond

CoCo Bubble Tea's Strategic Leap in Belgium

CoCo Bubble Tea, a renowned player in the boba tea industry, has announced a strategic partnership with Bubble Bar, an influential name in the Belgian tea scene, marking an ambitious step in its expansion journey across Europe. This collaboration is designed to deepen CoCo’s localization strategy, combining innovative product offerings, operational standardization, and an understanding of local market dynamics, ensuring an enticing tea experience for European consumers.

Established in 2014, Antwerp’s Bubble Bar has been a pioneer in the bubble tea market in Belgium, known for its creative approach to the beverage. The director of Bubble Bar emphasized how the partnership with CoCo aligns with their mission to bring exceptional bubble tea experiences to Belgian consumers while maintaining local relevance at the core of their identity.

By aligning with a trusted local partner, CoCo is leveraging its global operational systems and product development strengths with Bubble Bar's on-ground insights into consumer preferences, thus fostering a consumer-centric expansion model. As CoCo continues to grow, it has already established five stores in the Netherlands and aims to increase this number to 17. In Belgium, the brand currently operates three stores located in Brussels, Antwerp, and Leuven, with plans to reach a total of 14 locations.

Beyond the Benelux region, CoCo has made significant strides into the German market with new openings in Berlin and Düsseldorf, with another store set to debut in Frankfurt in the first half of 2026. The brand is also looking at additional locations in Budapest, Amsterdam, and Malaga, alongside its new expansions in Armenia and Egypt this year, demonstrating a robust commitment to international growth.

According to Research Markets, the European bubble tea market is projected to grow from USD 686 million in 2025 to USD 1.22 billion by 2032, showcasing an average annual growth rate of 8.6%. The report highlights that Germany, France, the UK, and the Netherlands are among the most dynamic markets where Asian-style beverages are gaining traction. Notably, Generation Z's influence is pushing the demand for visually appealing and customizable drinks, driving the popularity of bubble tea further.

Warren Chen, CoCo’s CEO, expressed encouragement by market dynamics and confidence in their long-term vision for Europe. He highlighted that by partnering with established regional players, CoCo aims to create a network grounded in both cultural relevance and operational excellence.

The expansion of CoCo is underpinned by a global supply chain strategy complemented by regional optimization. A customs and distribution center in the Netherlands enhances profitability while complying with European food standards and ensuring stable inventory turnover. CoCo’s European logistics and supply chain network spans most of the region, adequately positioned to support ongoing expansion plans. Additionally, an operational training center in the Netherlands focuses on barista training and operational excellence to ensure partners adhere to quality service standards.

Product diversity is another strong suit for CoCo, which offers a wide range of beverages, including pearl drinks, milk teas, and fruit teas. Its R&D teams blend global innovation with local flavor integration to appeal to consumers from various cultural backgrounds.
