AESC Achieves A- Climate Rating from CDP Among Battery Manufacturers

AESC Achieves Prestigious A- Rating from CDP for Climate Change

AESC, a global pioneer in battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage, recently announced that it has achieved an A- rating for climate change from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). This rating is notable as it is the highest awarded to any lithium battery manufacturer in the 2025 reporting cycle. This accolade further cements AESC's status as a frontrunner in sustainable manufacturing practices within the battery sector.

Significant Achievement for AESC

The CDP serves as one of the foremost environmental disclosure platforms for companies, making its evaluations crucial for investors, regulators, and consumers who assess the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance of companies globally. Out of over 22,100 companies assessed in the 2025 CDP reporting cycle, only 10% attained an A- rating or higher. AESC's achievement reflects its robust and transparent carbon management framework alongside its ongoing advancements in battery decarbonization.

Focus on Reduction of Carbon Footprint

AESC incorporates emission reduction objectives into its corporate decision-making processes and daily global operations. The company has developed significant expertise in carbon footprint management, renewable energy adoption, and industry decarbonization practices. AESC aligns its global operations with the EU Battery Regulation and other international compliance requirements.

To manage its carbon footprint effectively, AESC has systematically implemented a carbon management framework. It has built a comprehensive emissions factor database based on internationally recognized methodologies and collaborates closely with upstream suppliers to enhance carbon data modeling and management.

In terms of renewable energy and decarbonization efforts, AESC has reached several industry milestones. In 2022, it became the first battery manufacturer in the world to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations (Scope 1 and 2), a feat verified by the Carbon Trust. The company also launched the first carbon-neutral EV battery in 2022, with subsequent releases of carbon-neutral energy storage batteries in 2023.

Energy Consumption and Emission Reduction Initiatives

Throughout its global manufacturing network, AESC continually optimizes operations to drive down energy use and carbon emissions. This includes an array of on-site energy-saving initiatives such as enhancements in temperature and humidity control, installation of smart sensors on production lines, and repurposing waste heat and water to minimize energy waste. Moreover, AESC works diligently with its major suppliers to advance emissions reductions throughout its value chain.

Through these concerted efforts, AESC is developing a scalable and practical decarbonization pathway for the global lithium battery industry. The A- rating from the CDP bolsters AESC's position as a leader in sustainable development, demonstrating its commitment to working alongside clients and partners worldwide to foster a more sustainable battery ecosystem.
