Huawei Cloud Advances AI Computing for Industry Pioneers at HUAWEI CONNECT 2025

Innovations in AI Computing at HUAWEI CONNECT 2025

At HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, held in Shanghai, Zhang Ping'an, CEO of Huawei Cloud and Executive Director of Huawei's Board, delivered a keynote on advancing AI computing solutions. This address showcased Huawei's latest innovations that are revolutionizing the landscape of cloud computing with AI.

One of the highlights was the introduction of the AI Compute Service on the CloudMatrix384 platform. This service significantly expands Huawei Cloud's capabilities, moving from 384 cards to a staggering 8192 cards in their supernode specifications. This upgrade supports hyperscale clusters that run on between 500,000 to 1 million cards, offering powerful AI computing capabilities that are crucial for the intelligent era.

In addition to the Compute Service, Huawei Cloud unveiled its pioneering Elastic Memory Service (EMS), which brings notable improvements in latency for conversational AI by enhancing video RAM. This service allows faster and more interactive user experiences, effectively reducing the delay often experienced in AI interactions.

Huawei has deployed fully liquid-cooled AI data centers across several provinces in China, including Guizhou, Inner Mongolia, and Anhui. These state-of-the-art data centers can manage heat dissipation of up to 80 kW per cabinet, achieving an impressive Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.1. This leap in efficiency means businesses can connect to these advanced AI capabilities without the need for major hardware overhauls, which lowers operational costs and simplifies access to cutting-edge technology.

During the conference, Zhang Ping'an introduced the AI Token Service, aimed at simplifying complex technical aspects for users, thereby providing straightforward AI computing outputs. The CloudMatrix384's architecture allows for the seamless integration of computing, memory, and storage resources, optimizing the execution of AI tasks and improving performance metrics significantly.

As businesses increasingly look to develop independent models tailored to their needs, Huawei Cloud is enhancing its Pangu models by collaborating closely with industry-specific scenarios. This approach promises to accelerate the intelligent transformation that many sectors are currently experiencing. The versatility of the Pangu models has already been demonstrated in over 500 scenarios across more than 30 industries, including finance, healthcare, and autonomous management.

Moreover, Huawei Cloud is pushing boundaries with its new CloudRobo Embodied AI Platform. By deploying comprehensive algorithms through cloud computing, this initiative aims to bolster the intelligence of robotics, addressing past limitations and enabling wider applicability in diverse scenarios. The introduction of the Robot to Cloud (R2C) protocol marks a significant step towards uniting cloud and robotics, with 20 partners already engaged.

The Kunpeng cloud services are another focal point, showing a robust year-on-year growth in computational cores, which rose from 9 million to 15 million. This growth reflects Huawei’s commitment to creating secure, reliable services that harmonize software and hardware innovations. Additionally, the GaussDB databases have leveraged supernodes, significantly increasing transaction processing capabilities—up to 5.4 million transactions per minute—thus optimizing overall performance.

Huawei's distributed cloud solution encompasses all relevant scenarios, ensuring consistent user experiences regardless of geographical location, further exemplifying cloud computing's future potential.

To aid AI agent development, Huawei has launched Versatile, a platform designed to streamline the creation and deployment of AI solutions tailored to specific business needs. With a user-friendly approach, it allows clients to generate AI agents efficiently, enhancing productivity and facilitating rapid development.

As Huawei Cloud expands its role in the digital transformation across industries, its commitment to innovation and collaboration remains steadfast. The advancements shared at HUAWEI CONNECT 2025 signal a robust future for AI and cloud technology capabilities globally.
