Collaborative Efforts Towards Carbon Neutrality at Expo 2025
In an exciting development for the upcoming
Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, four innovative companies have joined forces to provide environmentally friendly energy solutions.
KlimaDAO JAPAN,
T.N. Plan,
PBADAO, and
JE FOREST have announced their plan to deliver a green fuel power supply system and corresponding offset services tailored to the needs of various pavilions and events at the Expo.
Understanding the Vision
As part of the
carbon neutrality initiative established for the Expo, these companies aim to ensure that the power demands of multiple exhibitions, events, and attractions are met efficiently and sustainably. This will incorporate
green fuel power generation methods along with the use of tokenized carbon credits to offset emissions related to excess energy consumption.
This dynamic collaboration is vital given how the Expo aims to showcase not just technological advancements but also sustainable practices and responsible resource usage. The
2022 policy established for the Osaka-Kansai Expo underscores a commitment to utilizing advanced technologies that contribute to a carbon-neutral and resource-circulating society.
Green Fuel Power Generation
At the heart of the initiative is the
Green Fuel Power System, developed by T.N. Plan. This system harnesses a unique process where water and CO2 from the atmosphere are synthesized into
green fuel. Under normal pressure and temperature conditions, produced fuel remains
cost-effective and does not contribute to net carbon emissions since it emits CO2 already present in the atmosphere during combustion.
Furthermore, an agreement with
Izumi Otsu City promises to enhance collaboration for operating this innovative system, where local interests and sustainability remain in the spotlight.
Tokenized Carbon Credit Offset Service
A revolutionary aspect of this project is the introduction of the
Carbon Credit Tokens, facilitated through smart contracts via
Carbonmark API. This advanced service allows the issuance of carbon credits as ERC-20 tokens on a public blockchain, providing high transparency and fostering easy transactions or offsets.
Currently, a pilot project with
eleven domestic companies and local governments is underway to tokenize and trade J-credits, a groundbreaking step towards boosting the carbon credit market while supporting
flexible responses to climate change.
Prestigious Events on the Horizon
A particular highlight is the
International Boulangerie Competition, to be held at Expo 2025, where representatives from leading countries will compete for the title of the world's best bread artisan. Anticipated to be a significant energy-consuming event, the collaboration has been set to ensure carbon neutrality from power sources to audiovisual components used during the competition.
Future Prospects
The partnership intends to expand these sustainable options as the Expo approaches, engaging more exhibitors and event organizers interested in maintaining eco-friendly practices. This collaborative approach aligns with the Expo's wider goals to enhance public interest in sustainable technologies and practices.
For those interested in understanding more about this initiative or to partner for a pavilion, exhibition, or event, the connection is encouraged.
