CNOOC Limited's Huizhou 26-6 Oilfield Development Project Starts Production

On December 1, 2024, CNOOC Limited proudly announced the commencement of production at the Huizhou 26-6 Oilfield Development Project, marking a significant milestone in its operational capacity. Nestled within the Pearl River Mouth Basin, this project boasts an average water depth of about 110 meters, showcasing the advanced engineering and technological capabilities of the company.

The project's infrastructure features a cutting-edge intelligent drilling production platform, complemented by the adaptively-modified FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) named “NAN HAI FEN JIN.” This sophisticated setup enables the efficient extraction of both oil and natural gas, fulfilling the growing energy demands in the region. CNOOC Limited plans to deploy a total of 19 developmental wells — comprising 2 for oil production and 17 dedicated to gas production — with the expectation of reaching a peak output of 20,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day by the year 2027.
