Thunes Appoints Chloé Mayenobe as Deputy CEO
In a strategic move to enhance its operational excellence and accelerate global expansion, Thunes has announced the appointment of Chloé Mayenobe as its Deputy CEO. Known as a smart highway for money transfers worldwide, Thunes seeks to bolster its leadership structure to support ambitious growth plans.
Chloé Mayenobe, who previously served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the company, will now take on an expanded role that bridges strategic ambition with operational reality. In her capacity as Deputy CEO, she will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and CEO Peter De Caluwe, steering the long-term vision of Thunes while ensuring its effective realization. Her responsibilities will encompass a broad range of activities, including network expansion, mergers and acquisitions, technology development, product innovation, marketing, sales operations, and overall global operations.
Reporting directly to Thunes’ co-founder and CEO Peter De Caluwe, Chloé's new position is designed to leverage her unique expertise in fostering high-growth companies and transforming market leaders. With over 15 years of experience in the fintech space, she brings significant knowledge from past roles, including being the COO at Solaris (valued at €1.6 billion), Deputy CEO at Natixis Payments, and Vice President and General Manager for EMEA at Ingenico. During her tenure, she successfully managed profit and loss accounts exceeding €400 million and added substantial enterprise value, notably increasing Ingenico's market capitalization by twelvefold.
Since joining Thunes in 2023, Chloé has played a crucial role in enhancing corporate governance, partaking in securing licenses for Thunes across all 50 U.S. states, and finalizing the company's $150 million Series D funding round.
Peter De Caluwe expressed confidence in Mayenobe's capabilities, stating, "Chloé is more than an operational leader; she is a strategic visionary who knows how to translate ambition into corporate value. Her promotion to Deputy CEO reflects her immense contributions to our growth and her adeptness in navigating complex global markets. To win the race, we need both a visionary pilot and a flawless engine. With Chloé fine-tuning the high-performance engine of our day-to-day operations, I can focus on the roadmap ahead, driving our strategic vision and cementing Thunes as a leading global payment infrastructure.”
Chloé Mayenobe commented on her new role, stating, "I am honored to assume the position of Deputy CEO. Thunes stands at a pivotal moment where operational rigor must meet aggressive strategic expansion. I will harness our global network to unlock new revenue streams, integrate predictive AI into our decision-making processes, and ensure our high-performance culture translates directly into our clients’ success. I look forward to working alongside Peter and our exceptional team to build a financial ecosystem that is not only efficient but also truly transformative for the global economy.”
