Yutong IC12E Electric Bus: A Milestone in Sustainable Transport

At the UITP Summit 2025 held in Hamburg, Germany, Yutong Bus, a renowned global manufacturer of commercial vehicles, unveiled their latest innovation: the IC12E electric intercity bus. This state-of-the-art vehicle was introduced under the theme "Think Green, Act Green," showcasing the company's commitment to ecological public transport solutions.

The IC12E stands out as a highly efficient, battery-operated bus specifically designed to cater to the unique demands of the European market. It features an impressive range, powerful performance, and top-notch quality, making it a versatile option for intercity travel.

A Comprehensive Challenge Across Europe

Demonstrating its capabilities, the IC12E embarked on a remarkable journey through four European countries, starting in Hamburg, Germany, and navigating through Copenhagen, Denmark; Gothenburg, Sweden; and finally arriving in Oslo, Norway. This expedition tested the vehicle in various driving conditions, including urban streets, highways, bridges, coastlines, and inclines, emphasizing the IC12E's adaptability and exceptional performance in diverse environments.

Throughout the 1,272 km journey, the IC12E showcased its leadership in new energy technology with an average energy consumption of merely 0.7 kWh/km. During the trip, the bus successfully completed a distance of 510 km between Germany and Denmark while reducing its charge level from 99% to 31%, leaving a remaining range of 170 km.

In terms of charging efficiency, the IC12E increased its state of charge (SOC) from 13% to 99% in just 1 hour and 40 minutes using a single charging station. The bus also excelled in challenging terrains, easily conquering slopes of up to 20% in Norway, a testament to its powerful performance.

Introducing the Yutong U12: Premium Urban Bus

In addition to the IC12E, Yutong also introduced the U12, a premium electric bus designed for major urban routes. This award-winning vehicle features a 12-meter chassis with a capacity for 95 passengers, a robust closed-ring structure for enhanced safety, and the YESS battery safety system that prioritizes security alongside efficiency and comfort.
