FrogTape® Paintover Challenge® Celebrates a Decade of Creativity

The FrogTape® Paintover Challenge®, an annual competition dedicated to innovative home makeovers, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary by not only crowning two winners but also showcasing the incredible talent of DIY influencers across the nation. This year's challenge featured ten notable influencers tasked with transforming their spaces using just $1,000 worth of materials and FrogTape® brand painter's tape.

The Winners

The standout projects from this year's Paintover Challenge® included Kelsey Berry from Charlotte, North Carolina, who won the People's Choice Award, and Toya Cheri from Benton, Louisiana, who was honored with the inaugural GOAT Award, recognizing her advanced use of the new FrogTape Advanced™ Painter's Tape.

Kelsey Berry captivated online voters with her creative transformation of a once drab home office into a vibrant and cozy workspace themed around the University of North Carolina. Her makeover featured stunning color choices and various paint sheens, culminating in an intricate argyle pattern that was meticulously painted by hand using FrogTape® Delicate Surface Painter's Tape, which ensured crisp and clean edges. "For a while, I considered this space a lost cause, but with the help of some paint and painter's tape, I revived it into a classy work zone," Berry shared. "I'm thrilled to have created an office space that my husband and I love."

On the other hand, Toya Cheri impressed the judges with her Mediterranean-inspired staircase renovation, which included a custom wooden arch and limewashed walls. Her use of the FrogTape Advanced™ Painter's Tape was pivotal in achieving sharp paint lines around contours, making her project stand out. "This project reinforced the importance of creating spaces that foster peace and inspiration at home," Cheri expressed. "Seeing the details materialize even more beautifully than I imagined was incredibly rewarding."

Prizes and Charitable Contributions

As a result of their outstanding work, both Berry and Cheri received cash prizes of $5,000. In addition, they were encouraged to donate an equal amount to a charity of their choice. Berry selected Claire's Army, an organization that supports families battling childhood cancer by providing essential assistance and care packages. Cheri's contributions will go to The Headstrong Project, a non-profit that provides confidential PTSD treatment for veterans and their families.
