Bank Ride Festa in Matsusaka Keirin 2026: A Cycling Extravaganza

On March 29, 2026, the Matsusaka Keirin (Matsusaka Cycle Race) will host the highly anticipated Bank Ride Festa. This event, organized by the Matsusaka City and executed by JPF Co., Ltd., is designed to be a comprehensive cycling event that caters to a wide range of participants, from beginners to seasoned cycling enthusiasts.

The organizing company, JPF, established in 1950 and headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, aims to promote cycling as a mainstream sport. Under the slogan "Making Cycling a Major Sport," JPF manages several public competitive venues, including those in Chiba, Toyama, Nagoya, Matsusaka, Kyoto, and Sanyo. Their initiatives encourage young people and beginners to engage with cycling in a fun and enjoyable way, facilitating their introduction to the sport. The Bank Ride Festa is one such initiative, providing a unique platform for cycling enthusiasts.

This marks the third edition of the Bank Ride Festa, following successful events at Matsusaka Keirin in July 2024 and at Nagoya Keirin in March 2025. Previous events have drawn large crowds, including families, and received positive feedback, leading to the anticipation for this year’s activities.

What to Expect

Participants can look forward to a diverse array of exciting events throughout the day. One of the highlights will be the exclusive opportunity to ride on the racing bank, which is normally reserved for competitive racing. Attendees can experience the thrill of trying out the latest bikes in the test ride area, featuring a variety of models, including road bikes, track bikes, and e-bikes. Note that identification will be required for test rides, and minors must have parental consent.

The event will also offer a beginners' cycling workshop where newcomers can learn essential cycling skills and tips for riding on the bank. Rental bikes will be available, ensuring that first-timers can participate without any worries.

For those looking for a hands-on experience, there will be an MTB (Mountain Bike) and BMX (Bicycle Motocross) experience on a specially designed pump track. This segment is suitable for both children and adults, making it a perfect family activity.

In addition, the event will feature a special guest talk show, where cycling professionals will share insights into the sport, as well as behind-the-scenes stories that only they can tell. This year's lineup includes current road racer Shimoji Man, road cyclist Yuugo Ishii, and cycling influencers Shino and Shi (Team Nikii). MTB pro rider Masaki Yamada and BMX rider Tadahiko Shimada will also grace the stage to share their experiences.

For families, there will be dedicated kids' booths and a variety of food stalls, including the popular Rinrin Morning Market, ensuring everyone has a great time.
