Colt DCS Unveils 2024 Sustainability Report

Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS), a prominent global provider of hyperscale data centre solutions, has published its much-anticipated 2024 Sustainability Highlights Report. This report outlines the company’s progress on its sustainability journey, demonstrating remarkable achievements in renewable energy procurement and emissions reduction.

In 2024, Colt DCS reached a significant milestone by sourcing 90% of its energy from renewable sources across its global operations, an 8% increase from the previous year. This commitment underscores Colt DCS's dedication to minimizing its carbon footprint and supporting the global shift towards sustainable energy practices.

Furthermore, the firm successfully reduced its total greenhouse gas emissions by 32% when measured against 2019 levels. Scope 3 emissions, which represent a substantial 98% of Colt DCS’s overall footprint, saw a notable decrease of 26%. All of these efforts are part of a broader strategy aimed at achieving a 90% absolute reduction in all emission scopes by the year 2045.

The company operates 13 data centres across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, with 19 additional facilities under development, demonstrating its expanding global footprint. New operational sites have been established in Osaka, Japan, and Mumbai, India, as demand for data centre services continues to surge. A strategic joint venture with RMZ Infrastructure has further accelerated Colt DCS's presence in these high-demand markets.

Colt DCS is notable for achieving a Platinum rating from EcoVadis, highlighting its ranking in the top 1% of companies assessed for their environmental, social, and governance performance. The recognition underscores its comprehensive ESG initiatives and dedication to sustainable practices in the data centre industry.
