The 1916 Company Opens New Showroom in Manhattan Beach
The 1916 Company has officially launched its newest showroom in Manhattan Beach, California, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion. This welcoming space of 5,800 square feet is located at Manhattan Village and offers a luxurious destination for collectors and enthusiasts of fine watches and jewelry. This marks the company's 25th location globally and the first new market entry since its establishment over a century ago.
Visitors to the showroom will find dedicated areas showcasing esteemed Swiss watch brands, including Rolex, Breitling, De Bethune, Panerai, and Tudor. These environments have been thoughtfully designed to enhance customer experience and foster connections through discovery and conversation. At the heart of the showroom lies a specially curated 1,350-square-foot Rolex space, where guests can indulge in a personalized exploration of the iconic brand’s offerings, presented in a manner that reflects the elegance and sophistication associated with Rolex.
The showroom proudly features the 1916 Collector's Lounge, the first of its kind on the West Coast. This innovative area is a haven for enthusiasts looking to explore Rolex Certified Pre-Owned watches, as well as The 1916 Company Pre-Owned Collection. The Collector's Lounge mirrors similar spaces at The 1916 Company's locations in prime cities such as New York, Miami, and various locations in Asia and Switzerland. This unique lounge invites guests to relax while appreciating a curated collection of collectible timepieces.
John Shmerler, the CEO of The 1916 Company, expressed excitement about this new venture saying, “Manhattan Beach has a rich culture of collecting and appreciation for craftsmanship, making it a perfect location for our new showroom. Our ethos is rooted in building meaningful relationships with our clients and brand partners, and we look forward to integrating into the South Bay community.”
One of the notable features of the new showroom is the High Horology area, anchored by De Bethune. This section aims to bring the art of independent watchmaking to a wider audience by showcasing rotating presentations by various watchmakers within The 1916 Company’s network. New featured maisons include Daniel Roth, Gérald Genta, Greubel Forsey, and Bianchet, promising visitors a dynamic experience within the Horology landscape.
In addition to its impressive watch selections, the showroom's jewelry collection is tailored to reflect the design-oriented character of the West Coast. Partnerships with designers such as Jade Trau, Jenna Blake, and Melissa Kaye introduce exciting new offerings alongside established names in fine jewelry. Exclusive pieces from The 1916 Company and collections from designers like Arzano, Etho Maria, Future Fortune, and others further enrich the showroom’s selection.
