KDDI Embraces TechTouch for Enhanced Salesforce Operations and Efficacy

KDDI Adopts TechTouch as Part of Its Salesforce Integration

KDDI Corporation, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has announced the adoption of TechTouch's AI-enabled Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) within its Salesforce sales support system. Known for having the largest domestic market share in the DAP space, TechTouch aims to bolster KDDI’s operation efficiency and enhance user engagement with the Salesforce platform.

Background of the Implementation

With the goal of fostering sustainable growth and enhancing corporate value, KDDI is pursuing its "KDDI VISION 2030," placing a strong emphasis on 5G communication, data-driven initiatives, and generative AI. This vision is complemented by a commitment to leveraging advanced technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and AI to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

KDDI’s Partner Growth Headquarters is dedicated to strengthening collaborations with its nationwide network of sales agents. The team is responsible for a range of functions including sales progress visualization, support for new product proposals, and sales staff training. Although Salesforce was initially implemented to foster information sharing and streamline sales progress management, the burden of updating training manuals whenever the user interface changed fell significantly on system administrators.

To alleviate this issue, KDDI sought a solution that would enhance the operational efficiency of Salesforce and allow for flexible content updates, ultimately supporting user retention and reducing educational workloads. This need led to the exploration of TechTouch's platform.

The Deciding Factors for Adoption

During the evaluation of various DAPs, TechTouch stood out for its no-code functionality, enabling easy implementation of on-screen operational guides. This ease of use became a primary factor in the decision to adopt TechTouch. Following a trial period, operational managers were able to visualize specific use cases for TechTouch, further solidifying its selection.

Future Plans

In the near future, KDDI plans to use the navigation capabilities of TechTouch to minimize input errors and inquiries within sales environments. This step is anticipated to lead to more accurate sales information consolidation and smoother collaboration with sales partners, thus improving the overall quality of the Partner Growth Headquarters’ sales support framework.

Moreover, KDDI aims to harness TechTouch's automation features to expedite quality control through smoother data input into Salesforce, as well as to apply it to approval workflows concerning financial management tasks such as expense reimbursements and purchase orders.

Insights from KDDI

According to Yuzuru Kubota from KDDI’s Partner Business Planning Division, the team aims to tailor its proposals based on customer needs through the implementation of "Sales Cloud" as their central sales system. While developing multiple functionalities within Salesforce has been a focus, challenges in promoting utility—especially for new members—have arisen. The direct operational guidance and auto-simplification offered by TechTouch have been pivotal in their decision to proceed with this integration. KDDI’s future initiatives include enhancing the guidance provided via TechTouch to make Sales Cloud more intuitive for all sales team members, regardless of their literacy level.
