From Playing Games to Creating Games: Summer Programs for Kids at NIJIN Academy
Transforming Summers at NIJIN Academy: From Game Players to Game Creators
As school gives way to the summer break, children often find themselves spending more time in front of screens playing video games or watching videos. At NIJIN Academy's Koto Oojima campus, located in Tokyo, Japan, a refreshing opportunity is arising that shifts the focus from mere consumption of games to the exciting realm of game creation. From August 5 to August 7 and August 21 to August 23, 2026, a three-day programming summer school titled "Concentrated Summer! Original Reaction Game Creation Course" will be held for elementary school students. This program allows children to dive into the world of game development, fostering both creativity and coding skills.
