Sunwoda Reveals Groundbreaking Energy Storage Cells at RE+ 25

Sunwoda Launches Advanced Energy Storage Solutions at RE+ 25

At the recent RE+ 25 conference, Sunwoda, a prominent global provider of energy storage solutions, unveiled two cutting-edge energy storage cells with remarkable capacities of 684 Ah and 588 Ah. These state-of-the-art products represent significant advancements in battery technology, catering to the diverse needs of the evolving energy market.

A New Era in Energy Storage

Dr. Sam Chen, CEO of Sunwoda's Battery Energy Storage System division, emphasized that the introduction of the 684 Ah and 588 Ah cells marks a crucial milestone in the company's ongoing commitment to enhancing energy storage technology. Sunwoda's goal is to develop advanced and reliable products tailored to various application scenarios, providing customers with greater value throughout the product lifecycle and return on investment.

The 684 Ah cell utilizes innovative stacking technology, achieving energy density exceeding 440 Wh/l. It also features integrated thermoelectric separation and a three-dimensional heat dissipation structure, ensuring safe and stable operation. Designed for longevity, with a life span of over 20 years, this cell can be seamlessly integrated into containers of varying lengths—10, 20, and 30 feet.

Notably, its high-density design reduces container consumption by 27%, shortens installation time, lowers costs, and decreases Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) by 8%. This increased efficiency enhances deployment speed and overall economic feasibility, with mass production scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025 to meet market demand.

Reliability and Efficiency

On the other hand, the 588 Ah cell employs a well-established winding technology enhanced with an innovative lithium-loss reduction solution. This design aims for a lifespan of up to 10,000 cycles at 70% State of Health (SOH), ensuring over 20 years of reliable performance. With an impressive 96.5% energy efficiency, advanced electrolyte safety, and a directional venting design, it guarantees long-term stability and cost-efficiency.

Sunwoda has emerged as a top-tier player in the energy storage sector, ranking among the world’s leading suppliers of storage cells in early 2025 and recognized by BloombergNEF as a Tier 1 energy storage manufacturer. The company's dedication to international expansion is underscored by its manufacturing bases in China, Thailand, Hungary, and other locations, ensuring efficient and reliable local supply chain support for markets worldwide.

Commitment to Sustainable Energy

With the launch of these innovative energy storage solutions, Sunwoda reinforces its commitment to advancing high-capacity energy storage solutions and supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future. Founded in 1997, Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd. has become a leading manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (stock code 300207) in 2011 and successfully introducing Global Depository Receipts on the Swiss Stock Exchange in 2022. With nearly three decades of experience and innovation, Sunwoda has not only solidified its position as a leader in lithium-ion battery technology but has also achieved remarkable business success, establishing itself as a hidden champion in the 3C battery sector and securing its place among the top global leaders in energy storage systems.
