Spring Special Exhibit 'Slime LAB' Attracts Over 6200 Families in Tokyo

Experience the Science of Slime at IMAGINUS

From March 20 to April 6, 2025, a special spring event titled 'Slime LAB' was hosted at IMAGINUS, a science experience facility in Koenji, Tokyo. Organized by Congre Inc., this unique event attracted approximately 6,200 families eager to explore the fascinating world of slime.

What is 'Slime LAB'?

'The Slime LAB' is not just about crafting slime; it offers hands-on experiments using various tools and reagents. Attendees had the opportunity to investigate the properties of slime, learn about its structure and history, and even conduct exciting experiments. The event aims to merge play with education, allowing kids to immerse themselves in the enjoyable study of slime science.

Event Highlights

  • - Dates: March 20 - April 6, 2025
  • - Time: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • - Location: IMAGINUS 3rd Floor Exhibition Room
  • - Fee: 550 yen per person

As guests got to experiment with various types of slime, a common sentiment expressed was the joy of conducting experiments that they couldn't perform at home. Participants used ingredients such as borax to solidify their creations and even learned how to create fluffy slime by mixing in shaving cream.

Visitor Feedback

The response from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 80% of visitors reporting satisfaction regarding their experience. One parent shared, "Using special chemicals and equipment that we can't access at home made this really special for my kids." Another remarked on their child's excitement about making glow-in-the-dark and fluffy slimes.

Upcoming Event: 'Slime LAB Returns' for Golden Week!

Due to the success of the initial exhibit, IMAGINUS will host a mini-event 'Slime LAB Returns' from April 26 to May 6, 2025. During Golden Week, the event will include new features like:
  • - Aroma slime making with fruit scents
  • - Ninja slime that changes color under UV light
  • - Recipe research for customizing slime textures
  • - Bucket slime for fun photo opportunities

Planning Your Visit

Anticipating moderate crowds, it's recommended to visit during off-peak weekdays; particularly on April 28, 30, May 1, and 2. The facility will implement timed entry to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees, minimizing wait times and overcrowding.
