The Much-Anticipated 'Major Tamagotchi Exhibition' is currently taking place in Sapporo, Hokkaido, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved digital pet, Tamagotchi. A Brief History of Tamagotchi
Launched in 1996 by Bandai, the Tamagotchi quickly became a sensation among schoolgirls, igniting a global phenomenon. Over the years, Tamagotchi has evolved significantly, introducing infrared communication in 2004, touch screen capabilities in 2021, and Wi-Fi functionality in 2023. With a total of 38 different models available, the franchise has expanded its reach to over 50 regions worldwide. By July 31, 2025, the cumulative number of units shipped surpassed a remarkable 100 million.
Ticket Information
To provide a safe experience and manage crowd levels, all dates will implement a 'Limited Number of Time-Slot Entry.' Here are the ticket prices:
- - Same-day tickets: Adults/University students: ¥1,800, High School students: ¥1,300, Junior High/Elementary School students: ¥800. Merchandise included option: ¥3,900.
- - Tickets are available through Lawson Ticket.
- - Important: Visitors must be accompanied by a guardian if they are under elementary school age, and a ticket is required for the guardian as well. Additionally, one child below preschool age can accompany each adult for free.
- - Those with disability identification (for physical, mental, or developmental disabilities) can enter for free along with one caregiver.
