Rinrin-chan's New Year's Illustrations for 2026

On November 21, a special treat was unveiled for fans of Itabashi's beloved tourism mascot, Rinrin-chan. The official website of the Itabashi Ward launched its free download service for the 2026 New Year's illustrations, celebrating the upcoming year with vibrant and heartwarming designs.

Rinrin-chan is a whimsical character, inspired by the fairy of the ward's flower, the two-leaf anemone. Every year, the creative mind behind Rinrin-chan, Naoki Kimura, who resides in Itabashi, is commissioned to craft unique illustrations that encapsulate the essence of the ward and promote it nationwide.

For 2026, the illustrations draw inspiration from the upcoming lunar zodiac sign, the Year of the Horse. Two distinct designs have been created this year:

Design 1: Rinrin-chan on a Hobby Horse
