Mirai Kuru Lab and Tsunagu NPO Join Forces for Local Business Magazine
In an inspiring initiative, Mirai Kuru Lab, an educational organization based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has embarked on a collaborative project with the NPO Tsunagu. Their aim is to create a local business magazine focused on the regional enterprises in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, reflecting the perspective of young people. This project is part of Mirai Kuru Lab's continuous efforts to provide educational programs, particularly in entrepreneur education and community engagement.
Project Overview
The project is set to unfold during the 2025 fiscal year, with classes starting in the Future Creation Course at Noda Academy High School. A total of 17 students from the second and third years will participate, building upon previous courses that focused on product planning and development. Over 30 sessions, the students will engage in the practical experience of creating the local business magazine, producing it with the goal of enhancing regional appeal and connecting youth with local businesses.
The magazine will be a collaboration involving high school and university students, as they work together to highlight the advantages of Nagato's local companies. Incorporating insights specifically targeted towards students, the magazine aims to be a bridge for UI-turn and relocation seekers, as well as providing valuable information for students entering the job market.
Engaging Educational Experience
Classes will include hands-on editing experiences, where students will learn the fundamentals of magazine production. They will utilize techniques like collage and brainstorming sessions, with guidance from industry professionals such as Mr. Iwamoto from NPO Tsunagu. Divided into teams, students will plan and collect information, conduct interviews, and write articles based on their findings. Feedback from local businesses will also guide the content.
The resulting magazine is set to feature insights from 20 local companies, showcasing unique perspectives such as “Recommended Sceneries from Local Workers”, “Hobbies of Working Staff”, and real-time information about local enterprises. Interviews with individuals who relocated and started businesses in Nagato, along with features on innovative local projects, will also be included, helping to present diverse role models within the community.
