RND Automation Expands Its Reach in the Packaging Sector with QuickPouch Acquisition

RND Automation Strengthens Market Position with Acquisition of QuickPouch

RND Automation, a subsidiary of CAS Holdings, has announced an exciting development in the packaging industry with the acquisition of QuickPouch's assets and intellectual property. This strategic purchase not only expands RND's product offerings but also underlines its commitment to delivering advanced packaging solutions.

QuickPouch’s Legacy in Packaging

Founded in Ronkonkoma, New York, QuickPouch, which operated under the name Adaptive Manufacturing Technologies, has a notable history in the packaging sector. The company evolved from specializing in research and development to becoming a leading producer of millions of pouches each year, catering to various markets including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food products. At its peak, QuickPouch launched over 300 operational systems worldwide, significantly improving packaging efficiency.

However, despite its successes, QuickPouch faced considerable challenges that culminated in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing in August 2024. Following its dissolution, RND Automation seized the opportunity to acquire QuickPouch's valuable intellectual property in February 2025. This acquisition marks a pivotal moment for RND as it aims to strengthen its foothold in the pouch-based packaging machinery market.

Strategic Advantages of the Acquisition

By acquiring QuickPouch, RND Automation not only gains a competitive edge but is also able to enhance its existing product line. According to Patrick McDermott, President and CRO of CAS Holdings, the addition of QuickPouch’s assets is a significant advantage that bolsters their packaging portfolio and enables RND to offer more comprehensive solutions tailored to customer needs.

Aaron Laine, Executive Managing Director at RND, echoed this sentiment, stating that this acquisition aligns seamlessly with their commitment to providing superior packaging solutions. He expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of revitalizing QuickPouch and ensuring its offerings complement RND's current product lines.

Integrating QuickPouch into RND's Offerings

RND Automation plans to improve the QuickPouch product lineup and integrate it into its renowned packaging solutions, including the MiniPack, MicroPack, and Kanga Poucher. This integration is designed to enhance product performance while streamlining operational processes for clients.

Steve Bostic, RND's Manager of Sales, Applications Engineering, Service, and Spare Parts, highlighted the company’s commitment to improving customer service and technical support. RND aims to address any challenges previously faced by QuickPouch customers, ensuring that they receive prompt assistance and have access to spare parts. They encourage all former QuickPouch customers to reach out for support, reinforcing their dedication to customer satisfaction.

Moreover, dedicated personnel like Mathew Boyd, RND’s Services and Spare Parts Supervisor, will focus exclusively on assisting QuickPouch clients, ensuring they receive timely and effective service for any issues that arise.

Excitement for the Future

The excitement surrounding this acquisition is palpable among the RND team. Key Account Managers Angela Desmond and James Pritchard have expressed their anticipation in offering QuickPouch solutions to customers, emphasizing the potential for enhanced packaging options that cater to specific needs.

As RND Automation embarks on this new chapter, its unwavering commitment to upholding the legacy of QuickPouch, while simultaneously providing top-notch support to existing customers, is apparent. With an emphasis on innovation and customer-centric solutions, RND is poised to make a significant impact in the packaging industry.
