Survey Reveals Insights on Combining Air Conditioner and House Cleaning Services

Insights into Air Conditioner and House Cleaning Services in Japan

In a recent survey conducted by Ouchi ni Pro, insights were gathered regarding consumers’ tendencies to combine air conditioner cleaning with house cleaning services. This survey, aimed at uncovering consumer habits and preferences, revealed some interesting statistics about the cleaning service industry in Japan.

Overview of the Survey

The survey aimed to explore preferences among consumers related to combining air conditioner cleaning and house cleaning. A total of 100 participants took part, reflecting a gender breakdown of 41 males and 59 females, mostly in their 30s and 40s. Conducted via an online platform in July 2026, the survey aimed to provide valuable insights to those facing challenges with air conditioning maintenance.

Key Findings

  • - Usage of Combined Services: 46% of respondents reported having requested both air conditioner cleaning and house cleaning services. However, only 24% had combined these services in a single request.
  • - Preferred Areas for Combined Cleaning: When considering additional cleaning alongside air conditioning, respondents most frequently cited the kitchen and range hood, followed by bathrooms and showers as areas they would like cleaned.
  • - Concerns About Combining Services: Notably, respondents expressed concerns about the costs increasing and the time required for service completion when requesting both types of cleaning on the same day.
  • - Ideal Timing for Services: The survey showed that the preferred time to schedule such combined services is before the summer when air conditioning is about to be used extensively (around May to June), with the end-of-year cleaning period being a close second.

Comprehensive Insights

The responses showed varying levels of engagement with house cleaning services. Only 5 participants reported using these services regularly, while 33 had utilized them once or twice. Surprisingly, 47 are considering using them in the future, revealing a growing interest among consumers.

In terms of those who had never used house cleaning services, 54 of the respondents indicated they had not done so. Regarding simultaneous requests for air conditioning and house cleaning, 22 participants only used them separately, and 7 had requested both on the same day.

Areas of Most Interest for Combined Cleaning

When asked where they would like more cleaning services, the emphasis on kitchens and bathrooms came through strongly with 43 and 32 responses respectively, highlighting these as priority areas for deep cleaning.

The Cost and Quality Dilemma

Concerns were raised about potential increases in costs and the quality of service when requesting multiple cleaning tasks at once. A significant number, 42 participants, mentioned apprehension over a higher combined cost, while 28 worried about longer service times.

Timing Preferences and Future Interest

The survey also asked when respondents prefer to have these services combined. A clear preference emerged for pre-summer scheduling, which aligns with awareness of upcoming air conditioner usage. Many believe that a specialized package plan combining both services would be beneficial, with 18 respondents eager to use such a service.
