Vermicular Enters Frozen Food Market with New Soup Lineup

Vermicular Enters the Frozen Food Business

Vermicular, known globally for its cast-iron enameled cookware, has taken a groundbreaking step by launching a range of frozen foods, starting with its "VERMICULAR FROZEN DELI". This marks the brand's debut in the frozen food segment, aimed not just at loyal customers but also at new consumers who seek the warmth of homemade meals.

A Vision for Home Cooking

Founded 16 years ago, Vermicular boasts a fan base of 1.55 million worldwide. The company, under Aichi Dobby Co., Ltd., aims to make home-cooked flavors accessible to everyone. This collaboration features the expertise of in-house chefs who understand the essence of Vermicular’s cooking philosophy—honoring the ingredients and highlighting their natural flavors.

Introduction of Five New Frozen Soups

On March 18, Vermicular unveiled its first batch, consisting of five frozen soups that utilize their unique no-water cooking method to preserve ingredients' authentic flavors. Each soup can be prepared quickly at home, requiring only warming to enjoy.

  • - Carrot Velouté (180g, ¥616): This soup presents the sweetness of carrots, extracted through their specialized cooking technique, resulting in a pure taste experience.
  • - Rich Onion and Burnt Butter Soup (180g, ¥702): The caramelized onions’ sweetness is enhanced with aromatic burnt butter, perfect paired with bread.
  • - Grilled Corn Cream Soup (180g, ¥724): The sweet corn is grilled to intensify its flavor, creating a savory and comforting soup.
  • - Mushroom Medley Velouté (180g, ¥853): Featuring a mix of four types of mushrooms, this soup offers rich depth and satisfaction.
  • - Vegetable Minestrone (180g, ¥842): A robust dish packed with six kinds of vegetables and pasta, showcasing the richness of seasonal produce.

All products are developed under strict guidelines, ensuring they contain no artificial coloring, preservatives, or flavor enhancers, making them wholesome and safe to enjoy.

Convenient Meal Kits

Following the success of the soups, Vermicular plans to launch frozen meal kits around mid-April. These kits will simplify meal prep, allowing customers to just add the ingredients into the pot for a delicious meal in 20 to 30 minutes—ideal for busy individuals or those new to cooking.

Commitment to Quality Ingredients

The frozen soups are made using domestically sourced vegetables, meticulously selected for their quality. Each product undergoes vacuum sealing shortly after preparation to preserve the made-from-scratch taste.

Expanding Availability

Pre-orders for the frozen soups started on March 4 through the official Vermicular online shop. Post-launch, they will be available at flagship stores located in Nagoya and Tokyo, with future distribution expected in supermarkets nationwide.

Vermicular continues to expand its product line, promising an exciting variety of frozen food options that reflect the brand’s commitment to quality and flavor.
