Connecting Nature and Urban Life: The Launch of TOKYO SAKURAMASU Craft Beer

Bridging Nature and Urban Life with TOKYO SAKURAMASU Craft Beer

In an inspiring collaboration, VERTERE, a craft beer brewery located in the heart of Okutama, Tokyo, has joined forces with REBIRTH PROJECT, a brand under the umbrella of Social Plastik. This project aims to connect nature and urban life through the launch of a new craft beer, commemorated with the exciting event - TOKYO SAKURAMASU BEER FES on July 18 and 19, 2025, at Slit Park in Yurakucho.

The Inspiration Behind TOKYO SAKURAMASU

The Tama River system, accounting for approximately 20% of Tokyo's water sources, is facing ecological challenges that have diminished the local yamame fish population. In light of this, the TOKYO SAKURAMASU PROJECT, led by Kazutoshi Sugawara, was initiated in 2021. The project aims not only to restore the yamame fish population but also to boost local economies through sustainable practices and community participation.

Craft Beer That Makes a Difference

The collaborative beer, Scilla, is a blonde ale carefully brewed by VERTERE in Okutama. This beer is crafted to appeal to both newbies and seasoned craft beer enthusiasts. It boasts a delicate floral aroma from dry hopping, complemented by a soft mouthfeel and gentle sweetness - making it a delightful experience for anyone.

What sets this offering apart is its unique collaboration label with REBIRTH PROJECT. For every bottle purchased, the initiative contributes to the release of one yamame fry back into the wild, transforming enjoyment into an act of environmental stewardship.
