Sky Labs Supports Clinical Hypertension Research Through Award
Sky Labs, a pioneering healthcare company specializing in AI-driven solutions, announced its commitment to the Established Investigator Award for Clinical Hypertension, developed by the American Heart Association (AHA). This announcement was made on March 12, 2026, following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the AHA in September of the previous year. The collaboration aims to bolster research efforts in the field of hypertension worldwide.
The Established Investigator Award will provide funding to three distinguished researchers who will have made significant advancements in hypertension research from 2026 to 2028. Sky Labs has pledged approximately $90,000 in total funding over the award period, which will cover the annual fees for the selected researchers as well as all program-related expenses necessary for the award's operation.
To be eligible for the award, researchers must be members of the Scientific Council on Hypertension of the AHA, ensuring that those who receive this support are recognized leaders in their field. Jack Byunghwan Lee, the CEO of Sky Labs, expressed his sentiments regarding this initiative. He stated, “We are deeply honored to contribute to the advancement of global hypertension research through our support of the American Heart Association. We will intensify clinical research to validate the effectiveness of our blood pressure management solutions while reinforcing our research and development efforts to support these initiatives.”
Sky Labs is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, offering unique solutions for chronic disease management through its product, CART. This device is recognized as the world's first medical-grade portable blood pressure monitor in the form of a ring. Having been founded in September 2015, Sky Labs has established itself as a leader in chronic disease monitoring.
Since the launch of the first CART device in 2020, designed to monitor atrial fibrillation using optical sensors, Sky Labs has rapidly expanded its technological capabilities. In 2023, the CART BP Pro received medical device approval for 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, making it an essential tool in hospitals and clinics throughout South Korea. By September 2025, the company also launched the CART BP, a consumer-grade blood pressure monitoring ring, accessible through their official online store and various e-commerce platforms.
The establishment of the Established Investigator Award signifies a vital step toward advancing hypertension research and improving patient outcomes on a global scale. By enabling significant funding to leading researchers, Sky Labs aims to catalyze innovations that can transform patient care and management strategies for hypertension.
