PetSafe Announces New CEO: Max Rangel



PetSafe, a prominent name in the pet care industry globally, has officially declared the appointment of Max Rangel as its Chief Executive Officer. This strategic move takes effect on November 10, 2025, as the company aims to further its innovation and market presence. Rangel, a veteran in consumer products with over 30 years of international experience, previously held the position of Global President and CEO at Spin Master Corporation.

The decision to bring Rangel on board was celebrated by PetSafe’s Chairman, John Compton, who emphasized the unique strengths that Rangel brings to the table. According to Compton, Rangel's experience encompasses brand transformation, innovative marketing strategies, and operational excellence, all of which are critical as PetSafe seeks to expand its reach in the pet care market. Compton expressed confidence that Rangel's leadership style and skill set will significantly contribute to the company’s continuous growth and adaptation.

In response to his new role, Rangel expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead PetSafe. He highlighted the company’s remarkable foundation in the pet care sector, built on innovation and trust. Rangel noted that he was inspired by the team’s dedication to enhancing the lives of pets and their owners. He pledged to work alongside the Board and the PetSafe team to foster growth and deepen customer relationships through improved value and experiences.

Rangel's extensive background spans various leadership positions within major corporations, offering him a comprehensive view of consumer goods. His career includes notable tenures at The Procter & Gamble Company, The Hershey Company, and S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. At Spin Master, he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s portfolio, most notably through the acquisition of Melissa & Doug, which solidified Spin Master's standing in children's digital entertainment.

From 2015 to 2020, Rangel contributed significantly to S.C. Johnson & Son, managing operations across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa while promoting lifestyle brands globally. His earlier experience includes serving as Senior Vice President of Global Chocolate at The Hershey Company and a solid 22-year career at Procter & Gamble, where he held various roles related to general management and marketing across multiple regions including North America, Latin America, and Asia.

In terms of educational qualifications, Rangel holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Tulane University. Beyond his role at PetSafe, he serves on the Board of Directors for Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. and on the Advisory Board of ‘Break the Ceiling Touch the Sky,’ a global initiative aimed at promoting gender equality in corporate leadership.
