While the former is poised to celebrate its 180th anniversary of horology in Glashütte in 2025, Meissen boasts a remarkable lineage of 315 years as Europe's first porcelain manufacturer. This partnership represents a magical encounter between two artisans who share a commitment to their respective crafts, allowing their diverse expertise and unique designs to breathe life into this striking collection.

Artistic Masterpieces in Timekeeping

Each Senata Meissen watch is a miniature piece of art. Encased in elegant red gold, the timepieces feature a minimalist dial design emphasizing the beauty of the watch. The slim profile, achieved by a thin movement and the two gracefully curved hands, highlights the simple yet sophisticated nature of the design. The dials are crafted from ultra-slim porcelain discs that undergo a rigorous process, initially fired at 1,400°C to ensure high quality and perfect flatness. Here, decorations, lettering, and Roman indices are meticulously painted in multiple layers using fine brushes. To achieve depth in color, each layer is carefully fired in a kiln at 900°C.

Dial Designs: A Feast for the Eyes

The newly launched Senata Meissen timepieces feature three distinct dial designs:

• - The first, limited to 150 pieces, embodies the artistic spirit of Meissen's "Mystic Maison" on a pure white background with delicate gray accents.
• - The second, also limited to 150 pieces, portrays the same motifs on a celadon green background that evokes the origins of porcelain artistry. This color pays homage to historical celadon glazes that date back to 9th-century China.
• - The third, with only eight pieces available, showcases a collage of motifs inspired by Meissen's crater vases, featuring vivid rainbow-colored animals and flowers that conjure enchanting, fairy-tale-like scenes against the backdrop of celadon green.

At the heart of these masterpieces operates Glashütte's own Caliber 36, a movement that encapsulates the finest German watchmaking technology. This sophisticated mechanism features bi-directional winding and an impressive power reserve of 100 hours. A silicon hair spring resists magnetic fields and temperature variations, while a stop seconds mechanism allows for accurate time setting. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can marvel at the meticulous finishing that contrasts beautifully with the artistic porcelain dial. The refined ribbed finish on the Glashütte three-quarters plate and the hand-engraved balance cock, along with the sunburst finishing on the hand-wound chain, reflect the level of artistry executed in every detail.
