The 14th All Japan Junior High and Elementary School Dance Competition
The competition office for the All Japan Junior High and Elementary School Dance Competition has announced the participating teams for the upcoming 14th edition, scheduled for August 2026. This event is renowned as one of Japan's largest dance competitions for elementary and junior high school students, showcasing their creativity, expression skills, and teamwork.
This year, a remarkable total of 327 teams and 3,790 participants have registered, highlighting the event's growing popularity. Teams come from various regions, participating not just to compete, but to express their artistry through dance.
The competition will feature regional block tournaments in four main areas: Tokai, West Japan, Kyushu, and East Japan. All participating teams will receive one of three awards: Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Notably, the outstanding teams awarded Gold will have the fantastic opportunity to progress to the national tournament, scheduled for October 3, 2026, at the National Yoyogi Stadium in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Online Division
Additionally, an Online Division is open for entries until August 20, 2026. This division is crucial for teams that might find it challenging to perform on stage, whether due to their recent participation in dance or because school events coincide with the scheduled block tournaments. Instead of performing live, these teams will submit their recorded dance performances for evaluation by the competition office. The top teams in the Online Division will also have the chance to participate in the national final.

Venue: Niterra Japan Specialty Ceramic Civic Hall Forest Hall, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture
- - West Japan Regional Tournament
Elementary Division: August 15, 2026 (Saturday)
Venue: Kobe Cultural Hall, Large Hall, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture
- - Kyushu Regional Tournament
Venue: Fukuoka Civic Hall, Large Hall, Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture
- - East Japan Regional Tournament
Middle School Division (School Participation): August 22, 2026 (Saturday)
Middle School Division (Open Participation): August 23, 2026 (Sunday)
Venue: Shinjuku Cultural Center, Large Hall, Shinjuku, Tokyo
National Tournament
