Southern California University of Health Sciences Achieves Recognition as a Great College to Work For in 2025

Southern California University of Health Sciences Earns National Recognition

The Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) is proud to announce that it has been recognized as one of the 2025 Great Colleges to Work For, receiving special distinction on the Honor Roll. This accolade is awarded through a comprehensive assessment conducted by the Great Colleges to Work For® program, which evaluates institutions based on feedback from employees and a range of workplace criteria.

As highlighted in a recent report published in The Chronicle of Higher Education, the assessment combines an institutional questionnaire, which captures employment data and policies, with an employee survey to gauge workplace satisfaction among faculty, administrators, and support staff. The results signify that employee feedback played a crucial role in SCU's recognition as a leading college to work for in the United States.

Dr. John Scaringe, the President of SCU, expressed his gratitude for this recognition, stating, "Being a great place to work is fundamental to fostering innovation and successfully managing change in education and healthcare. Receiving this recognition is both rewarding and reflects our commitment to a Whole Health culture, where individuals feel motivated to share their best ideas and collaborate effectively across various disciplines."

For the third consecutive year, SCU earned a spot on the esteemed Great Colleges Honor Roll, a designation reserved for those institutions that excel in specific categories of recognition. The university stood out across six key areas:
  • - Inclusion, Belonging, and Community
  • - Job Satisfaction and Support
  • - Compensation and Benefits
  • - Professional Development
  • - Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
  • - Confidence in Senior Leadership

Provost Dr. Tamara Rozhon explained, "This acknowledgment encapsulates the essence of SCU as a Whole Health University. We strive to embody Whole Health within our community by fostering an environment of well-being, belonging, and purpose. When our faculty, staff, and students are valued and supported, it naturally leads to excellence in teaching, learning, and research."

The Great Colleges to Work For® program is designed to recognize colleges and universities that create remarkable workplaces and enhance understanding of the aspects that significantly impact organizational culture in higher education.
