Explore the Beauty of Okayama Korakuen: A Workshop for Children
Okayama University is hosting a fascinating workshop aimed at young explorers! On February 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, the Okayama University Library, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, will hold a "Children’s Discovery Workshop at Okayama Korakuen". This event promises to be an exciting day filled with learning, exploration, and adventure.
Event Details
The workshop will take place at the renowned Okayama Korakuen, one of Japan’s most celebrated gardens, located in North Okayama City. Participants will gather at the main entrance of the garden from 9:30 AM to 9:50 AM for registration. The workshop includes an exploration of the garden alongside university students who will serve as guides. Children will also have the chance to walk on a large replica of historic artwork, allowing them to discover both the current beauty and historical significance of Korakuen Garden.
This is a unique opportunity for elementary and middle school students (accompanied by guardians) to engage actively with nature and history. The event is designed particularly for children in the fourth grade and above, providing them with a firsthand experience of the garden’s magnificent surroundings while learning about its rich history.

Participation in the workshop is free for children, although guardians will need to pay an entrance fee to the garden. With a limit of 20 children available for this adventure, early registration is essential. There are several ways to register:
