Risen Energy and Ascania Energy Join Forces for Solar Power Initiatives in Ukraine
Collaboration between Risen Energy and Ascania Energy
Risen Energy and Ascania Energy have recently entered into a significant partnership aimed at advancing solar power and energy storage initiatives in Ukraine. This collaboration is marked by the signing of two strategic memoranda of understanding, signaling a commitment to support projects designed to enhance the nation’s energy landscape.
The framework established by this partnership includes solar projects with a capacity of up to 100 MW and energy storage systems capable of managing 200 MWh. The endeavor is primarily motivated by the increasing demand in Ukraine for new production capacities, decentralized energy infrastructure, and flexible solutions to bolster electricity supply reliability.
Key Objectives and Benefits
The synergy between solar power and energy storage is expected to amplify distributed capacity, improve the integration of renewable sources, shift electricity consumption patterns, and assist businesses amid electric grid restrictions. Ascania Energy functions across the entire energy value chain within Ukraine, encompassing project development, engineering services, and energy management. With over 30 years of experience, it combines local execution capabilities with access to a diverse array of corporate customers.
Risen Energy, well-regarded in the field of photovoltaic solutions, offers a range of products including solar modules, energy storage systems, inverters, and intelligent energy management solutions. Notably, as of Q2 2026, Risen has achieved cumulative shipments of photovoltaic modules exceeding 121.4 GW, along with energy storage systems surpassing 10 GWh. The company operates in more than 90 countries and regions, demonstrating its extensive influence and operational reach.
In Ukraine, Risen has supplied modules for twelve solar projects, notably the Pokrovskaja solar power plant with a capacity of 323 MW, showcasing its ability to customize products and provide local services effectively. This foundational experience supports applications across large power plants, commercial and industrial facilities, and combines solar energy with storage solutions on a global scale.
Further Collaboration and Development
On August 13, a delegation from Ascania Energy visited Risen Energy's smart manufacturing facility, where they observed the manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance processes involved in photovoltaic and energy storage technology. Their discussions delved into the performance and efficiency of the Hyper-ion Pro heterojunction modules, engineered to deliver high output and lifetime energy yield, as well as the liquid-cooled eTron energy storage systems that boast integrated temperature management and multilayered safety protocols for large-scale applications.
The two companies are set to continue their collaboration, focusing on project development, localization of products, technical training, after-service support, and building technical capacities. By merging Risen Energy's advanced technologies and supply capabilities with Ascania Energy's local expertise, the partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of solar systems equipped with energy storage across Ukraine.
This joint effort not only highlights the commitment of both companies to expand their footprint within Ukraine's growing renewable energy sector but also represents a strategic move towards enhancing energy independence and sustainability in the region.
