Strutt ev¹ Launch: A New Era of Intelligent Mobility
The Strutt ev¹ has officially launched, making its first appearance at the CES 2026, where it earned the prestigious Best of Innovation award. Strutt, a robotic company based in Singapore, designed this groundbreaking vehicle to transform daily mobility by merging automotive technology with a human-centered approach.
Challenging Conventional Mobility
Strutt’s ev¹ addresses major issues in micro-mobility: limited accessibility, stress in crowded environments, and the stigma surrounding traditional mobility aids. Tony Hong, the CEO of Strutt, shared that the inspiration for the ev¹ came from witnessing the mobility challenges faced by his grandmother, who transitioned from a bicycle to a tricycle due to physical limitations. Strutt aims for the ev¹ to empower users with greater independence and confidence, creating a seamless daily experience.
Innovations at the Core
The ev¹ boasts advanced features such as the exclusive evSense system and Quad-Drive technology, which facilitate a harmonious interaction between the user and the vehicle. The evSense system encompasses a comprehensive array of sensors, providing 360-degree environmental awareness. It employs high-performance LiDAR for mapping, along with dedicated semantic understanding cameras and a combination of time-of-flight and ultrasonic sensors. This technology feeds into the Co-Pilot and Co-Pilot+ modes, enhancing safety and convenience by streamlining user inputs and adjusting vehicle behavior proactively to avoid collisions.
Users can easily set their destinations via an intuitive screen display, while the Pathfinder feature helps navigate to popular points of interest. For instance, if a user expresses desire for milk, the system directs them to the refrigerator using natural language understanding.
Forward-Looking Autonomy
Additionally, the ev¹ integrates an ev-Pilot system, enabling autonomous functions such as tracking its owner on short walks, thanks to its impressive capabilities. These features will be continuously enhanced through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.
Quad-Drive: Precision Control
To complement its intelligence, Strutt’s unique Quad-Drive architecture offers all-wheel-drive capabilities, optimizing mobility under real-world conditions. This advanced system enables precise trajectory tracking and control akin to automotive active steering systems. Four independent motors provide robust performance, ensuring traction and stability even on rugged terrain. The ev¹ is capable of speeds up to 13 km/h (8 mph) and supports a maximum load of 160 kg (350 lb).
User-Centric Design and Modularity
Designed for daily convenience, the ev¹ can be disassembled into five portable components for easy handling. Ergonomic seating adapts to individual needs, making it accessible for a wide range of users.
Ongoing Evolution
The ev¹ is built for continuous evolution. With OTA updates, the vehicle can receive regular software enhancements and introduce new features long after the initial purchase.
Availability and Pricing
Available for pre-order at an introductory price of $5,299 (down from a retail price of $7,499), the Strutt ev¹ opens up a new chapter in personal mobility. Interested customers can participate in global demonstrations or schedule test rides through Strutt’s official website.
