Daqo Unveils SF6-Free Energy Solutions at The Smarter E Europe 2026
Daqo continues to lead the energy sector with groundbreaking innovations, showcasing their SF6-free distribution and prefabricated power supply solutions at ‘The Smarter E Europe 2026’ held in Munich. As European markets push for accelerated integration of renewable energy sources, energy storage solutions, and electrification, project operators face escalating challenges. These include the need to connect new generation capacities and electricity-intensive consumers to the grid more rapidly, alongside meeting stringent requirements for environmental compliance, reliability, and security of supply.
A standout feature at the event was Daqo's SF6-free ring main unit (RMU) from the DQS Air series, which combines dry air insulation with vacuum interruption. This alternative to conventional SF6 units significantly reduces maintenance needs and ensures reliable operation within urban distribution networks, renewable energy projects, industrial facilities, and grid expansion initiatives.
In a significant addition to their offerings, Daqo also introduced a new SF6-free, air-insulated RMU designed for secondary distribution networks. This solution emphasizes flexibility in configuration, intelligent monitoring, and remote operation, appealing to customers striving for an environmentally friendly and more manageable power distribution infrastructure.
Daqo highlighted its containerized PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions, integrating step-up transformers, medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, monitoring, and auxiliary systems into a factory-prefabricated unit. This integrated solution assists developers and EPC contractors in minimizing onsite interfaces, simplifying coordination, and expediting the path from delivery to grid connection.
For energy-intensive sectors, such as data centers, Daqo presented the “DQMpower 2.0,” a modular power supply solution that incorporates low-voltage distribution, uninterruptible power supply functions, power quality management, and monitoring capabilities. This innovation enhances efficiency in delivery, optimizes space utilization in cabinet areas, and boosts operational transparency.
Daqo’s semiconductor transformer technology is also gaining traction as a forward-thinking platform that enables flexible interaction between grids, loads, storage, and DC systems. During discussions at ‘The Smarter E Europe,’ the company's leaders noted that conversations with customers underscored a clear market priority: energy infrastructure projects require more environmentally friendly systems, quicker grid connections, and enhanced supply security.
Kevin Lin, General Manager for Daqo in Europe, emphasized the company's commitment to local coordination and partner network expansion across Europe, ensuring that clients gain access to integrated technical solutions with clearer interfaces and improved implementation support. Daqo's European strategy is focused on linking manufacturing capacities with local coordination and partner support. With 32 production facilities in its industrial base, which cover medium and low voltage equipment, transformers, automation, and system integration, Daqo is positioned to deliver tailored technical packages to European customers with fewer supplier interfaces for increased delivery control.
Looking ahead, Daqo is steadfast in its mission to collaborate with utilities, project developers, EPC companies, and industrial clients to promote cleaner, more reliable, and rapidly deployable energy infrastructure throughout Europe.
