Chiyoda Kids Sports Festival Hosts Charity Food Drive
On May 5th, from 10 AM to 3 PM, the Chiyoda Kids Sports Festival will take place at the Chiyoda Town East Sports Park in Oura District, Gunma Prefecture. This exciting event will feature a collaborative food drive aimed at supporting families facing financial hardships, spearheaded by the Gunma-based Life Cooperative Palsystem and Zaspa Gunma Luminous, a women’s soccer team from Ota City.
A Meaningful Collaboration
In an effort to tackle food waste and contribute to social issues, these two organizations have been working hand-in-hand since last year to promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the community. At their dedicated booth during the festival, representatives from Palsystem Gunma and Zaspa Gunma Luminous will encourage attendees to donate non-perishable food items that are no longer needed at home. Every donation will be checked for expiration dates and then distributed to those in need through local food banks.
Exciting Activities Await
Attendees who participate in the food drive will also have the chance to enter a capsule lottery where they could win signed memorabilia from Zaspa Gunma Luminous players. In addition to this, there will be tasting opportunities for Palsystem’s original products and a friend referral campaign at the booth, making it an engaging experience for families and individuals alike.
