Announcing the 'Sweets and Me' Creative Contest

Kitchoan Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce the inaugural 'Sweets and Me' Creative Contest. Running from December 22, 2025 to March 31, 2026, this contest encourages participants to create handmade works inspired by their favorite sweets. Whether through paintings, illustrations, crafts, or any other form of artistic expression, participants are invited to showcase their unique perspectives on what sweets mean to them.

Contest Overview

Participants can express their love for sweets using various materials and techniques, excluding edible confectionery. This can include:

- Painting, Illustration, Printmaking
- Textiles and Crafts: Knitting, embroidery, beadwork, resin, patchwork, etc.
- Handicrafts: Pottery, lacquer art, weaving, glasswork, woodworking, metalwork, leather crafts, papercraft, etc.
- Sculpture and Model Making

Participants are urged to convey their unique experiences or cherished memories associated with sweets. The creativity displayed will be a significant aspect of the entries, allowing individuals to express what sweets represent in their lives.

Submission Guidelines

The competition is accepting entries from December 22, 2025 to March 31, 2026 (postmarked by the deadline). Awards will be given to outstanding entries:

- Grand Prize: One winner - 200,000 yen
- Excellent Prize: One winner - 100,000 yen
- Merit Prize: One winner - 50,000 yen
- Bimi Biyori Prize: Five winners - Confectionery parcels worth 10,000 yen each

How to Enter

Participants can submit their works via mail or through a web form.

Schedule

- March 31, 2026: Deadline for submissions (postmarked)
- April 20, 2026: Announcement of first evaluation results
- May 31, 2026: Final adjudication results

Once the initial assessments are completed, selected participants will be asked to send their actual works for final evaluation. Participants will be responsible for return shipping. Further details will follow.
