Experience the Refreshing Cacao Journey Chocolate Parfait by Minimal This Spring

Discover the Delightful Cacao Journey Parfait by Minimal

As the season of blooms arrives, Minimal, a renowned specialty chocolate shop based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is set to introduce its delightful spring offering—the 'Bean to Bar Chocolate Parfait - Cacao Journey.' Officially launching on April 1, 2026, this limited-time parfait promises a refreshing experience that brings together cacao from five different countries across three continents.

A Journey Through Cacao

The 'Cacao Journey' parfait is more than just a dessert; it’s an exploration of global cacao regions. Minimal expertly layers chocolate components made from cacao sourced from various countries, allowing patrons to experience the unique characteristics of the cacao directly. Paired with seasonal fruits and ingredients, this parfait is designed to be a refreshing treat for the warmer spring months.

This time around, the parfait features cacao from three Central American countries, showcasing rare and distinct cacao varieties that are not widely recognized yet, thus elevating the overall chocolate experience.

Refreshing and Satisfying Layers

The parfait is divided into two main sections, each rich in flavor and texture.

The Upper Layer: Indulgence and Variety

The upper part of the parfait includes two distinct types of ice cream: a matcha chocolate flavor paired with a fruity milk chocolate. These ice creams highlight the uniqueness of their respective ingredients, providing an exciting contrast in flavor. Complementing the ice cream are creamy textures from cacao-derived nuts and pralines, alongside cookies infused with hojicha chocolate. This layered structure allows for a journey of taste, releasing aromas and flavors that evolve with each bite. To enhance the experience further, the top is adorned with Calvados raisins and fruity chocolate, alongside a pie crust that adds a delightful crunch.

The Lower Layer: A Refreshing Twist

In contrast, the lower layer of the parfait consists of a luscious mascarpone and white chocolate mousse, complemented by a sorbet made from cacao pulp, seasonal citrus compote, and honey lemon jelly. As you indulge, the refreshing tartness of the cacao pulp and the juicy notes of citrus work together harmoniously, leading to a light and refreshing aftertaste. This balance of rich satisfaction derived from the diverse cacao flavors, combined with a clean finish makes for a truly unique experience in a single glass.
