Samsung Enhances Galaxy AI for a Multi-Agent Experience
Samsung Electronics is taking significant steps to enhance its Galaxy AI ecosystem, allowing users to benefit from a more flexible and integrated experience with multiple AI agents. Designed under the company’s vision of reducing the hassle and steps in everyday tasks, the updated Galaxy AI will support users in completing their work more naturally. As a result, users will enjoy greater freedom, flexibility, and control over how they interact with their devices.
Recent internal research at Samsung reveals a rising trend among consumers; approximately 80% of users are now utilizing more than two AI agents for various applications in daily life. This trend underscores the need for a versatile solution that can accommodate various needs and preferences, prompting Samsung to evolve Galaxy AI. The company aims to offer an environment where users can choose from integrated AI agents that suit their specific requirements and lifestyles.
This evolution comes as Galaxy AI is deeply embedded into the device framework, integrating AI at the OS level rather than through standalone applications. Instead of merely functioning within individual apps, Galaxy AI captures user context and interaction patterns across the entire system, yielding a more natural and cohesive user experience. By minimizing the need to switch between applications or repeat commands, Galaxy AI operates seamlessly in the background, enhancing usability and efficiency.
Moreover, Galaxy AI will optimally combine services such as Perplexity, thereby delivering a unified experience across Samsung Galaxy devices. According to Won-Joon Choi, COO of Samsung's Mobile Experience (MX) Division, the initiative aims to provide users with more choices and flexibility while ensuring quick and easy task completion. Choi emphasizes that Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, unifying various AI capabilities to create a consistent and fluid user experience.
In line with this initiative, Samsung plans to introduce Perplexity as a new AI agent in its upcoming flagship Galaxy devices. Users will be able to activate Perplexity using a dedicated wake-up phrase, “Hey Plex,” or through quick access commands such as pressing the side button. This functionality will empower users to receive context-aware support seamlessly when needed, further enhancing their overall experience.
The Perplexity AI agent is deeply integrated with major Samsung applications, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminders, and Calendar, as well as select third-party apps. Such comprehensive integration enables smoother execution of tasks without needing to switch between applications. This system-level synergy will provide Samsung Galaxy users with a more adaptable AI experience across their devices.
Samsung remains committed to developing an open AI ecosystem through collaboration with trusted partners, continuously focusing on providing accessible and user-friendly experiences. Detailed information about compatible devices and upcoming features will be released soon.
