Japan's 2025 Promotional Marketing Awards Invites Entries for In-Store Marketing Category

Japan's 2025 Promotional Marketing Awards: In-Store Marketing Category Opens for Entries

The Japan Promotional Marketing Association (JPM) is excited to announce the opening of entries for the 2025 Promotional Marketing Awards, specifically focusing on the In-Store Marketing category. Starting on July 15, 2025, marketing professionals and companies can submit their innovative POP advertisements to this prestigious contest.

This category is a transformation from the previously held JPM In-Store Marketing Show & Awards, which has been a tradition for the past 53 years. The new structure aims to unify various promotional activities under one prestigious umbrella—the Japan Promotional Marketing Awards (commonly referred to as JPM Awards)—and enhance the value and visibility of in-store marketing initiatives. This change is a response to the evolving landscape of retail and promotional marketing, effectively bridging the gap between promotions and actual in-store sales.

The In-Store Marketing category has been inspired by the Shop! OMA Awards Program, aligning with international standards. Managed by the Shop! Environments Association, headquartered in Chicago, this non-profit organization conducts research, provides education, hosts events, and publishes materials related to in-store marketing. The merger of the U.S.-based POPAI Association into Shop! in 2015 has enabled the global recognition of the OMA Awards, which has recognized outstanding merchandising accomplishments for over 60 years. By securing this license, the JPM Awards are proud to be recognized as part of a global benchmark in the industry, with the Economic Affairs Minister's Award being granted to the most outstanding submission.

In today’s rapidly shifting consumer landscape, the features and expectations for POP advertising are continuously evolving. The JPM Awards encourage participants to share these changes and innovations through their entries, promoting collaboration and improvement across the marketing field.
