Infinium Launches Groundbreaking Immersion Cooling Platform for AI Datacenters

Infinium Launches the Infinium Edge™ Platform for Advanced Immersion Cooling in AI Datacenters

On January 15, 2026, Infinium officially introduced the Infinium Edge™, an innovative infrastructure platform aimed specifically at addressing the cooling challenges faced by high-density AI (Artificial Intelligence) and HPC (High-Performance Computing) datacenters. As the demand for greater computational capabilities continues to surge, driven by advanced GPUs and CPUs, the need for enhanced cooling solutions is becoming increasingly critical.

Innovative Cooling Solutions

Infinium Edge™ utilizes a unique class of dielectrical fluids, specifically formulated to address the thermal management needs of AI and HPC environments. These fluids are engineered to efficiently dissipate heat directly at the source of computational power, ensuring sustained thermal efficiency. This innovative approach enables operators to deploy next-generation AI hardware with higher density, reliability, and reduced complexity in infrastructure.

Traditional air-cooled datacenters usually support a rack power density ranging between 10 to 20 kW. In contrast, modern direct cooling systems can achieve 40 to 80 kW per rack, but often come with increased mechanical complexity. Immersion cooling systems, however, where IT equipment is submerged in dielectric liquids, can facilitate significantly higher power densities, making them increasingly vital for the design of next-generation AI datacenters.

The Role of Edge Immersion Fluids™

As workloads geared towards AI are constantly pushing past the limitations of air cooling and traditional direct chip cooling methods, immersion-based solutions are being evaluated as viable pathways to achieve greater density alongside improved thermal efficiency. The Edge Immersion Fluids™ serve as a core component of the Infinium Edge platform, combining advanced chemical properties with industrial engineering and scalable manufacturing processes to support the widespread adoption of immersion-cooled datacenters.

Robert Schuetzle, CEO of Infinium, emphasized, “Cooling has emerged as one of the major constraints in deploying cutting-edge AI computing systems. Infinium Edge leverages our expertise in advanced chemistry and industrial manufacturing to provide an immersion cooling platform that propels next-generation AI infrastructure forward. This allows for faster data processing and a more sustainable operation, while also significantly lowering the energy and water usage associated with conventional cooling technologies.”

Reliability and Sustainability

The fluids produced by Infinium Edge are distinct from some commercial dielectric fluids, as they are cleaner synthetic products devoid of the contaminants often found in petroleum-based immersion liquids. Such contaminants previously posed threats to reliability and long-term performance in immersion-cooled systems. Edge Immersion Fluids™ are designed for continuous operation, delivering predictable performance even under prolonged high thermal loads typical in AI and HPC settings.
