Arkema Expands ISCC PLUS Certified Waterborne Resins Facilities with Boretto, Italy Addition

Arkema, a prominent player in the specialty materials sector, has recently added its Boretto facility in Italy to the global list of locations certified for production of ISCC PLUS waterborne resins. This certification is a significant milestone reflecting Arkema's ongoing commitment to sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.
Established to meet the rising demand for eco-friendly materials, the Boretto site focuses on the production of waterborne acrylic resins, pivotal for various applications such as architectural coatings, adhesives, and consumer products, including items used in the e-mobility sector. With up to 100% reduction in Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), this facility is set to enhance Arkema's position as a leader in sustainable materials production.
Achieving ISCC PLUS Certification
The ISCC PLUS certification represents compliance with international sustainability standards, allowing for tracking of bio-based and recycles materials within production processes. The Boretto facility produces resins with a remarkable percentage of bio-attributed carbon content—up to 95%, which showcases the company's shift towards sustainable production methodologies.
