On March 5, 2025, a groundbreaking moment for healthcare innovation unfolded with the official launch of the SHAAR — the SZMC-Arieli Healthcare Innovation Hub — situated within the Share Zedek Medical Center (SZMC) in Jerusalem. This initiative represents a union of medical expertise and investment acumen, forged between Arieli Group and the renowned SZMC, marking a notable stride in the advancement of the healthtech landscape in the region.

Established in 2023, the collaboration brings together the strengths of Shaare Zedek's premier clinical facilities and the investment prowess of Arieli Group. SHAAR aims to serve as a nexus, fostering interaction between innovative health solutions and the financial resources necessary for their realization, ultimately catalyzing groundbreaking developments within the medical field.

Since its inception, SHAAR has been a proactive contributor to fostering innovation. Its advanced programs have enabled numerous startups to gain access to vital resources, including funding, strategic business development, and clinical trial opportunities. Currently, a total of 19 companies have set foot within SHAAR's program, marking a successful start since the first cohort graduated in April 2024. Noteworthy highlights include one startup receiving FDA approval for its medical device, while six others have initiated clinical trials, two of which are being conducted at the facilities of Shaare Zedek itself. Furthermore, six companies successfully secured additional funding, and three have gained patent approvals for their innovations.

Prof. Dan Turner, Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation at SZMC, expressed, "The road to innovation is paved with collaboration, persistent effort, and countless hours of hard work. While it is unfortunate that only 10% of health startups succeed, we are confident that our focused and coordinated approach at SHAAR significantly amplifies the chances of success. Our mission is to utilize the comprehensive knowledge, skilled team, and robust infrastructure of Shaare Zedek to move ideas forward, ultimately enhancing patient care."

Evan Renov, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Arieli Group, also shared insights during the ceremony.
